Lansing is a hub to so many different things, from thriving startup businesses to the beautiful Michigan State University. Also known for its appreciation of the arts, Lansing is home to many excellent performance venues, art galleries, and music festivals. The city takes the time to appreciate and support the full spectrum of businesses and entertainment, which makes it a wonderful place for anyone.

Moonlight Film Festival – Valley Court Park – Every Thursday through August 13th
Film festivals are one of Lansing’s most exciting events. The Moonlight Film Festival is a free, outdoor, film festival in which films are presented on a big screen in downtown East Lansing at Valley Court park. Turner Street Outdoor Theater Presents Field of Dreams – August 14th
Right in the heart of Lansing’s historic Old Town, Turner Street Outdoor Theater is offering a free event for friends and family alike to enjoy the movie, Field of Dreams. Live music will also be available 1 hour prior to the start of the film.
Zoo Brew 2015 – Potter Park Zoo – August 27th
At only $5 for admission, enjoy some beer and food while exploring the Potter Park Zoo! There will also be live Alternative Rock music available for enjoyment, and food and beverages are available for purchase from Dusty’s Cellar. This event’s purpose is to provide plenty of fun and entertainment while raising funds to support the continued operation of the Potter Park Zoo.
Farmers Markets at the Capitol – State Capitol Building – August 27th
Lansing is a huge supporter of Michigan agriculture, hosting many farmers markets throughout the summer months. The purpose of the Farmers Markets at the Capitol is to support food and agriculture in Michigan, as well as to educate our citizens on the importance of supporting farmers and agriculture! With vendors from all over Michigan, you will find plenty of different types of fresh foods.
As you can see, there is a pretty wide variety of events going on around the same time, which makes it super simple for any type of person to find something to enjoy! This is only a small taste of the numerous events taking place; Lansing and the businesses it encompasses are always doing their best to provide entertainment and enjoyment for its residents and visitors.
